Our Food Pantry Ministry

MPBC provides a self shopping emergency food pantry for families and individuals in our community who are in need of assistance. We are a Second Harvest Metrolina Food Bank Partner Agency and have served over 5000 families in the past year with the assistance of our dedicated volunteers and generous contributors.

MPBC’s Community Involvement

MPBC Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner
Every year on Thanksgiving Day our church family prepares and serves a community Thanksgiving dinner. The dinner is about meeting our community’s spiritual and nutritional needs.
Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen
On the 4th Tuesday of each month our family of volunteers prepare and serve free hot meals to the less fortunate at the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen which is a regular benevolence of First Presbyterian Church of Rock Hill. It is an interdenominational project of the churches in Rock Hill. The Soup Kitchen provides a free hot meal from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Covenant Presbyterian Church Soup Kitchen
On the 5th Sunday  MPBC volunteers prepare and serve meals at Covenant’s Soup Kitchen to anyone desiring a free meal.  The Soup Kitchen is open from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Family Promise Shelter

MPBC volunteer husband and wife teams stay overnight at the homeless shelter. Family Promise of York County (FPYC) is a local not-for-profit organization that provides a comprehensive program of meals, shelter, support services, and life skills training for homeless parents and children through coordination with area churches, social service agencies, and volunteers.
